Lindsay Lohan released from jail

Lindsay Lohan released from jail – ABC News 02/08/2010

Actress Lindsay Lohan has been released from jail early after serving only 13 days of a 90-day sentence for violating her probation on a 2007 drunk-driving charge. Lohan, 24, was booked into an all-female jail in south Los Angeles on July 20 and placed in solitary confinement. But her sentence has been reduced for good behaviour and she has been released under an early release program to combat overcrowding in Los Angeles’ budget-strapped jail system.

Entertainment website E! Online reports Lohan was released at 1:35am Monday (local time) but somehow managed to avoid the dozens of camera crews waiting outside the jail for her. Her freedom is expected to be short-lived though as her sentence also mandates she begin an immediate 90-day stint in rehab. According to celebrity website, Lohan will be treated for bipolar disorder and an addiction to amphetamines. Both TMZ and rival outlet say Lohan will head to a facility in west Los Angeles.
The Mean Girls actress, whose promising career has foundered in recent years due to her hard partying Hollywood lifestyle, said in 2007 she was addicted to drugs and alcohol and made three trips to rehab that year. She was also found in possession of cocaine at the time of her 2007 arrest and spent 84 minutes in jail as part of her sentence.
